The online Health Science Program provides the student an opportunity to gain well-rounded, multidisciplinary holistic health care knowledge. Two program tracks are available to meet the needs of students with various backgrounds and goals. Graduates from each track have a strong understanding of the health care system and the diverse population it serves.
DEGREE COMPLETION TRACK:
The Health Science Degree Completion track is designed for students who already
hold an associate’s degree in a specific health discipline and want to advance their education. Offered in an accelerated, asynchronous online format, this track builds on existing professional expertise to support career growth in leadership, education, training, research, or preparation for graduate study. Students must meet all university graduation and major requirements, and an AAS degree in an approved health field serves as an embedded minor.
TRANSDISCIPLINARY TRACK:
The Health Science Transdisciplinary track is a flexible option for students interested in health or healthcare careers who do not want to pursue a clinically-based undergraduate program. Through multidisciplinary coursework, students will gain a broad understanding of the healthcare system, the populations it serves, and the factors that shape wellness, while tailoring their studies with a minor to fit their career goals. The track is offered fully online, with the option to include on-campus courses if desired. The Transdisciplinary track also provides excellent preparation for graduate study in both clinical and non-clinical fields.
A health science degree prepares students to work in the complex health care industry. Depending on their track, professional and educational background, graduates often find themselves in positions such as:
The health science degree can also be used as a stepping stone to a graduate program.
